fitness.
I have some very strong thoughts on fitness. I believe that nourishing your body on the inside is just as- if not more- important than nourishing the outside. It upsets me to see people spending all their focus on their "afters' and hating their "befores." I believe that we should love our bodies and ourselves in every state it's in, and appreciate ourselves during every step of our journey.
As a former professional dancer, it took me a while to get to that place. . After all, some of those costumes I had to wear eight shows a week were skiiiiimpy. I lived in constant concern about what other people's perception of MY body would be.
But when I became a mom- to two girls no less, I vowed to raise two secure, bad-ass self-loving women. And that had to start with me.

dance it out.
There was a point in my life that I was in such deep emotional trauma that I didn't think I would survive it. So I marched into the nearest gym and searched for the next dance fitness class. I stumbled into a class being taught by Billy Blanks Jr, and danced in the back with tears streaming down my face. Week after week, class after class, I dance/cried in the back. Until one day, completely filled with the support and love of DIO family around me, I realized I had found joy again.
joy is meant to be spread.
I believe that joy is meant for spreading, and that dance is for everybody. When Billy asked me to be Lead Master Trainer for Dance It Out, it was a no-brainer. While it still gives you a killer workout, DIO is the only fitness format that encourages love, kindness, and community.
I was also honored when the fitness line FABLETICS approached me to be a spokesperson for their brand, and to star in a series of dance fitness videos for them. Their purpose falls right in line with mine: to help women (and now men) feel amazing in their bodies- no matter what their size and shape. I'm really proud to be a part of that.
Dance changed my life for the better, and I am so honored to be changing other peoples' lives!
